Door Hardware
The earliest record of the door is represented in ancient paintings Egyptian tombs, depicting single and double doors fabricated of a single slab of wood. Ancient doors were hung by pivots at the top and bottom of the hanging stile, which swung in sockets drilled in the lintel and sill.
