Northeastern Indiana was found to have vast deposits of natural gas and during the turn of the century was known as the glass capital of the U.S. One of the companies that set up shop in Indiana was the Sneath Mfg. Co. and was located in Hartford City. Since the major cabinet manufacturers were located in Indiana, Sneath became the primary supplier of canister sets that came with the cabinets.
