The Mantle Lamp Company of America was originally organized to import and sell foreign-made kerosene burners and mantles for American-made lamps. The Aladdin lamp became the ultimate development in incandescent kerosene lighting and the company soon became known around the globe for its famous lamp. The company was a major exporter of lamps, and other products by the 1950s.
