Teapots

When tea was first introduced to England in the 18th century, it was costly and in short supply. The first tea service often had pieces that did not match, and early teapots were designed with only enough space to hold one cup of tea. The teapot was enlarged as the 1700s progressed and by 1800 the teapot was inflated to modern dimensions that were arranged in a tea set of identical pieces.
