Shutter Hardware
Although predominately used for decorative proposes in modern societies, window shutters were developed as a means of protection from the elements and enemies. Ancient Greeks used fixed louver shutters fabricated from marble. When the concept was adopted in continental Europe, shutters were crafted from wood enabling the development of articulating louvers that allowed greater control over the elements.
