Gold Leaf

The Art of Gold Leaf Gilding is a practice whereby thin delicate leafs of genuine gold are carefully applied into size, a medium specifically prepared to receive and secure the gold. These processes are known as gilding. Two distinct methods are utilized to gild. One produces a mirror effect on glass; the other method is used for all the rest and is known as surface gilding. The two different procedures utilize either water or oil size.
