Edge Clamps
The earliest trunks manufactured in America date to the late 17th century. The trunks were fabricated from various woods and covered with animal hides. In the 18th century the hide-covered trunks became more decorative, as handmade brass tacks, forged iron locks, handles and leather trim were added to both flattop and rounded top styles.
