Chair Cane

Cane that is woven for seating comes from rattans, which are jungle creepers. There are approximately 1600 species in 14 genera, however only two genera are commonly used as seating cane the Calamus and Daemonoropos. These plants are indigenous to the Malay Peninsula, Indonesia as well as the Philippines, and can reach up to 500ft (150m) long.
