Although ceramic art may take the shape of everyday items, they are intended for aesthetic enjoyment above practicality with regard to function. Objects primarily intended for utilitarian purposes are likely to be scrutinized for their efficiency and functional value in relation to price, a combination factors not considered by the ceramic artist.
