Fine Arts Masonry
I am a Master Mason with over twenty-five years of experience. My specialty is with high-end, detail oriented, historical and design work, involving stone or brick construction.
My interest in both new and historical architecture preceded a college major in art and led me to pursue a background in masonry that involved training in New England where I received instruction in Early Colonial through Greek Revival periods of architecture and spent some fifteen years developing and practicing my restoration techniques.
I have been involved in many projects for historically significant properties. I have also represented clients on projects before Historical Society Board Committees. Most recently, I completed a restoration project involving stonework for the Henry Ford Estate in Dearborn, Michigan.
I work with clients who purchase fireplace mantels and other masonry involved artifacts to install them properly. I also design and construct any masonry additions such as fireboxes, steps, or posts to complement my clients' purchases.
I can provide surveys and consultations to discuss how someone might achieve their goals on purchasing and installing architectural elements.
I am also able to design and build original architectural masonry and art-in-architectural
projects.
I am able to travel for specialty work and am interested in pursuing such proposals. I am especially interested, at this time, in traveling for projects in Maine and Santa Fe, but I will consider interesting projects from all areas.
