Sugar Creamer Sets

When introduced from China tea was initially taken straight, but the flavor proved too strong for the English palate and milk or cream was introduced to the brew. Silversmiths designed new vessels in the sugar creamer set to contain and distribute the cream and sugar from approximately 1725. The early sugar bowls and creamer set was hammered from silver sheet metal, and the rim as well as lip were fashioned separately and added to the body.
