Metal Statuary
Bronze, spelter, brass, and lead are the principal components of classic metal statuary.Bronze is a manufactured alloy of copper and tin that is ideal for sculpting and casting. When cast, bronze forms a strong crystalline structure. Narrow areas are particularly fragile and represent a weak point in the construction of the sculpture, making bronze statuary susceptible to breakage through mishandling. When cleaning never use commercial products, or water, they will damage or remove the patina, and compromise the value of the statue.
