Screen Doors

Storm and screen doors were originally fabricated from wood, which although visually more appealing than the modern counterparts, require maintenance to protect the wood from weathering. Wooden storm doors less than one inch thick are used primarily as screen doors as the slight build lacks the rigidity to support glass. Storm doors thicker than one inch can accommodate glass panels that are often interchanged seasonally with screen panels, which allow air movement while remaining impervious to insect infiltration.
