Liming Wax is a smooth paste wax that produces a white-grained finish on relatively open grained wood. Two hundred years ago this liming method was used to lighten dark wood. Liming wax the predecessor of the "pickling method" used today. Liming produces a distinctive effect, which is traditionally associated with oak furniture. Filling the wood grain with liming wax creates the finish. The white liming wax contrasts with the wood emphasizing the grain pattern. The Liming Wax can be applied directly onto bare wood or will work on sealed or stained wood. This is a great product for unfinished funiture shops.
