Door Stops

The term doorstop refers to a device used to hold a door stationary, or one that prevents a door from opening too far, and damaging nearby walls. Door stops developed to prevent damage to adjacent walls consist of a short length of rubber-tipped wood or metal that is screwed into either the wall or the floor in the path of the door. If attached to the wall, the door stop may be either a few inches above the ground, or at such a height as to meet the doorknob.
