The patented Acme, Lull & Porter hinge is used in applications when enough wood trim is exposed within the window opening to mount the shutters. One side of the hinge is mortised into the edge of the shutter and the other side is mortised into the window casement. When using Acme, Lull & Porter mortised hinges, choose a hinge that gives you the best clearance away from the window castment. Be sure to allow adequate clearance from the surface of the house for ventillating purposes.
