Sculpture

Sculpture can be defined as any three-dimensional form created as an artistic expression and sculpting as the art of assembling or shaping an object of any size or suitable material. Sculpture, as with all art forms, is a record of human experience. While in the creative process, the sculptor relies on precise lighting to study the angles of the subject and the effects of lighting and the resulting shade that create the sense of solidity and third dimension. Only by light properly cast can the sculpture artist accurately study shape, texture, and character. Likewise, the finished sculpture is best displayed in lighting conditions that are equivalent to that which the work was created.
