Acrylic

Acrylic paint was originally developed in the late 1940’s for house painting. Artists wanting to avoid excessive drying time associated with oil paint soon adopted the formulation. Exceedingly versatile, acrylic paint can be manipulated into a thin glaze reminiscent watercolor or layered on canvas, as is oil paint.
