This tile was made with the same techniques as arts and crafts tile makers used. The clay is first embossed with a delicate texture, then glazed with a deep transparent green glaze. When the glaze melts in the kiln, it receeds from the raised texture and pools in the recessed areas. This subtle varience in thickness creates the illusion of depth and richness of color. Size is 6" x 6" x 1/4" thick making it compatable for installation with most commercially produced tile.
