Pewter Ware
Pewter marks are not always reliable, several manufacturers in the United States marked American made pieces "London" to supply demand for British made pewter ware. Usually, Scotch pewter makers used a thistle mark, while the French generally marked pewter with the form of an angel with the word "Paris", a Fleur-De- Lis, or a crowned rose, and in Brussels St. Michael and the dragon in a circle, a gothic "B" or a six petal rose.
