Candelabras

Used for centuries as a primary source of light, candles emit a warmth and glow that enchants and soothes. Styles have graduated from the Charles II with a clustered or fluted column on a square or polygonal stepped base. In 1690 the Huguenot silversmiths introduced cast type, remaining the standard until 1760. The "Queen Anne" style (1700-1715) was the basis for many later variations with a baluster stem echoing the wide base.
