The razor itself is marked SOLINGEN on the blade, which is set above a crest featuring blades crossed through an anchor within a shield and sidled by intricate floral designs. The base of the blade is marked Garantie and closes into a very dark brown or black sheath. On the case itself is the phrase The Famous Essex Razor as well as Trade Mark with graphic in fancy gold lettering. The words Made In Germany are stamped in the leather on the opposing side of the case. There is a stamp that is covered when the case is closed that reads Hug the Batber � Up-To-Date Shaving parlors � 5608 Germantown Ave. Mr���..Razor � Honed by�4.�Date�8/27� - Turn within one week. the number 4 and date are had written, the rest is printed.
