STATUS: Available ITEM #1498 PAIR - EXTRAORDINARY 19TH-C FRENCH WALL MIRRORS W/CRYSTAL SPIKES DESCRIPTION: Beautifully made, extremely heavy chased brass banding surronds a shield of mirrored & bevelled glass, decorated by large crystal florets, spiked with centered crystal spears. The center starburst of old lead crystal spikes shoot from a similarly banded brass ring, with crystal bowl and floret atop. Originally silver-plated, the finely-chased heavy brass metal still has remnants of the silvering visible. All the mirroring, glass, crystal and metalwork is original. We have restored it with a light cleaning to reveal the beauty of detail in the metalwork, and by re-setting several crystal spikes in hard plaster. Made in 1840.Height: 30" Width: 22" Depth: 6"
