Comb back rocking chair with exaggerated ornamentation. The supporting columns of this hardwood chair were painstakingly lathe turned to attain the corkscrew effect; each tooth of the comb back was turned as well. Measuring 37.5 inches to the top of the backrest, and 15 inches to the top of the seat that is formed and exceedingly thick. The outside edges of the backrest are hand carved into an intricate formal pattern.
