A very displayable mask from Angriman village on the middle Sepik in PNG. Angriman masks are not worn for ritual dancing. Rather, they are held before the face by small carved handles extending down from the chin of the mask. The handle on this mask is a bird figural. A vegetable fiber fringe 'beard' adds to the overall size and impact. A beautiful and uncommon piece. SOLD!!!!!! Approximately 36" overall.
